PIREP - Stark Avionics

Numerous person, I appreciate pireps from those with knowledge of shops you have (good or bad) and love to pass on my experience for the contemplation on others too. After a so-so experience throughout a recent avionics install, I ran across myself searching for an alternate avenue for your setting up a fresh transponder for ADS-B compliance. I called two local shops first. The expense of one was high i actually busted out laughing over the phone as though I were at the comedy bar. He was apparently much less amused while i. I was telling the story of my local quote to some friend in the airport anf the husband recommended which i call John Stark at Stark Avionics for the quote. In doing my required research ahead of calling John, I browsed Mooneyspace and BT for pireps for the shop. In doing so, I discovered a totally terrible pirep on Stark Avionics. (Search in BT if you would like to learn it). This pirep caused me serious worry about whether or not to call Stark to get a quote.

I posted an over-all query for tips about an avionics shop and received another recommendation for Stark from another MSer (Oldguy). He and that i spoke in reference to his knowledge of Stark and I made a decision to give John an appointment depending on the two recommendations I from trusted sources. I was open with John regarding my concerns relating to the negative pirep on MS cheap I became gun shy using the previous experience. As they always say, there's two sides to every single story and John took his time to explain his side in my experience at all like me certain he'll be ready to do with anybody else who would like to call him up and need rest. Our conversation shifted from the pirep to pricing. John i discussed different equipment options, what might best suit my needs/wants as well as the one-time fee installed price for each and every option. We ultimately made a decision to install the Stratus ESGi for ADS-B in/out. John quoted us a soft price, but was at the start that the number could be slightly higher if your tray was riveted in (as numerous Mooneys are). I attended the airport that night, took pictures and confirmed that my trays were attached with screws and forwarded those pictures to John. John responded in a really timely manner and confirmed the predetermined fee price to the equipment and install written so we scheduled the install date and pickup date. The plane was to be dropped off the Sunday after Thanksgiving. John said he'd have everything ready by Tuesday, however i opted to schedule the pickup for Wednesday in the event there have been some snags as you go along.
